How do I use NDISwrapper?
The basic commands for loading Windows drivers using NDISwrapper are:
ndiswrapper -i filename.inf
depmod -a
modprobe ndiswrapper
I very seriously recommend however, that anyone using NDISwrapper read the installation and setup information found at the NDISwrapper project website . The information found on that page not only gives details and troubleshooting information regarding loading Windows drivers, but also fairly thoroughly covers installation of NDISwrapper (you may need this if your version of Puppy does not have it preconfigured) and a wealth of information on how to select the correct Windows driver for your WiFi adapter.

How do I know which driver to use?
The listing in the Puppy WiFi Assistant will generally provide a link to the webpage where the driver can be located. If the driver used for testing was a Windows driver then the Windows XP driver is generally the best choice. At any rate Windows Vista drivers are not generally compatible with NDISwrapper. If the Linux driver is included with the version of Puppy Linux that the adapter was tested with and it loaded automatically then driver location is simply marked Included with Puppy.
